Tourism
Objectives
- To conceptualise, implement, and manage scientific research, and to engage with interdisciplinary research teams in identifying and formulating relevant scientific problems
- To develop critical reflection skills on current best practices in tourism management and development
- To foster innovation and the development of new tourism products
- To rigorously integrate research results into service to the community, addressing the needs of tourism organisations, particularly in relation to internationalisation challenges and the emergence of new business areas
- To deepen training in advanced data analysis methods and techniques for tourism research; in addition to integrating future PhD graduates into the scientific community, the Programme also prepares them to assume positions of the highest responsibility within the tourism sector
Operating Mode
Generally, classes are taught in English and take place in person, on Fridays in the evening (6:30–10:00 pm) and on Saturday mornings (from 9:30 am). Occasionally, tutorial support sessions may be held online during weekday evenings.

National Students:
first year curriculum: 2100€
other curricular year: 1200€
International Students*:
first year curriculum: 3000€
other curricular year: 1800€
Application Fee: 100 Euros
Registration Fee and School Insurance: 275 Euros
Note: The tuition of this course can be paid in 10 installments, being the first at the time of registration and the remaining in the months of October, November, December, January, February, March, April, May and June.
* in accordance with Decree-Law No. 36/2014, changed by Decree-Law No.62/2018, of 6th August, international students are nationals of a country which is not a Member State of the European Union and are not a legally resident in Portugal for more than 2 uninterrupted years by 1st of January of the enrolment year
