The CinTurs' mission is the development and transfer of knowledge for the sustainable development of tourist destinations and the well-being of tourists, visited communities and tourism industry workers. The CinTurs is financed by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and obtained the classification of “Very Good” at every appraisal. The CinTurs has the maximum score within the FCT’s Portuguese R&D Units assessed by the jury for Tourism and Hospitality in 2018 (assessment report).
