In a partnership between the Faculty of Science and Technology (FCT) and the Faculty of Economics (FE), the 1st cycle course in Mathematics Applied to Economics and Management offers a solid background in the fundamental areas of Mathematics that are most relevant to solving problems in the areas of Economy and Management.
Participation of students in extracurricular activities and English language learning is encouraged in order to facilitate contacts with foreign students and to foster opportunities for international mobility.
FCT and FE have a close relationship with the business environment and with public, regional and national entities as well.
Through a highly qualified faculty, it is intended to give technical staff analytical and computational tools required in the dynamic and global market setting.
Graduates will be able to enter 2nd cycles of specialized studies in areas that need a strong component in Mathematics, with the use of adequate computational means, particularly in Tourism Economics, Environmental and Natural Resource Economics, Strategic Management of Organizations, Operations Management, Marketing, Accounting, Finance and the like.
